Race: BC Superweek / Canada: Tour de White Rock: Choices Market Criterium
Start/Finish: White Rock, British Columbia, Canada
Distance: 60 kilometers
Overview: Saturday’s Choices Market Criterium was a fast-paced race that saw more than 50 percent of the riders failing to finish the 60-lap race. Team Novo Nordisk’s Stephen Clancy crossed the line as the team’s top-placed rider in 26th position.
“I can feel the steady growth of these young riders with each day,” Team Novo Nordisk Sport Director Pavel Cherkasov said. “Yesterday we had our first top 10 this week and three riders in the top 15. Sunday’s road race is promising to be a hard one, and I hope all the Team Novo Nordisk riders will be active throughout the race.”
Results: Florenz Knauer (Team Heizomat) took the win ahead of Sebastian Molano (Team Columbia) and Alexander Grad (Team Heizomat).
The final stage of the nine-day BC Superweek is Sunday with the Tour de White Rock Peace Arch News Road Race. Team Novo Nordisk, the world’s first all-diabetes pro cycling squad, plans to field a strong team to take on the 134-km race throughout White Rock.
