Marquardt celebrates her birthday with pair of wins at T-Town time trial races

August 13, 2020 – Team Novo Nordisk’s Mandy Marquardt celebrated her birthday with two wins on August 8 at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center in Trexlertown, Penn. She claimed the Women’s Flying 200m TT and the Women’s 500m Time Trial at the fifth edition of the 2020 Ocean Spray Time Trials.

“It was great to kit up and race again on Saturday,” said Marquardt who celebrated her 29th birthday the day before with family and friends.

“I’m pleased with my performance, considering I’m in a really heavy training block right now and always tired. This time has been challenging in many ways and it’s ok to not always perform at my best, so I’m happy to keep focusing on the process and progression and showing up everyday,” added Marquardt.

Marquardt won the women’s 200m in 11.512, averaging a speed of 62.543 kmph. In the women’s 500m, she took the win in 35.602.

“My coach, Andrew Harris is really pushing me way out of my comfort zone right now and what better time than now,” Marquardt concluded. “I did win both events again and am looking forward to my next event for Record/Personal Best Day!”
