The guys executed the team plan perfectly today. While the team didn’t achieve the result we wanted, it was great to see the guys go to war for Lucas and ride as a cohesive unit.

The plan was very straightforward given the nature of the parcours; 110km of rolling hills and light crosswind, followed by a long climb that got steeper and steeper toward the finish. The team should ride all together to keep Lucas in good position toward the front, out of the wind, and to get Lucas into any dangerous breaks should they arise.

The guys did this perfectly but Lucas just didn’t have the power at the base of the climb and lost some time. All riders finished after doing so much work!
