Team Novo Nordisk’s Top Race Videos of Summer 2018

Team Novo Nordisk had our most successful summer ever in 2018, with six podiums, multiple top 10’s and a victory for David Lozano at Tour du Rwanda. This summer, the world’s first all-diabetes pro cycling team also made appearances in Canada, the UK, Denmark and Hungary, sharing our mission to inspire, educate and empower everyone affected by diabetes along the way.

5) Ride London

Panic on the streets of London as an unprecedented summer heatwave disappeared in a downpour of heavy rain, but nothing could stop the world’s first all-diabetes pro cycling team from racing their hearts out in their debut at the one-day World Tour event at the 2018 RideLondon Prudential Surrey Classic.

4) Tour de Hongrie, Prologue – Charles Planet

Forty young kids from Hungary with type 1 diabetes came to watch the opening prologue of the 2018 Tour de Hongrie on the shores of Lake Balaton and cheer on Team Novo Nordisk. And the riders heard them, above all Charles Planet, who went on to post the second fastest time of the day and take a step to the podium awards presentation in the sprinter’s green jersey.

3) Post Nord Danmark Rundt, stage 5 – Charles Planet

Nothing beats a VIP visit as young kids from Denmark with type 1 diabetes came to see the final stage of the Tour of Denmark. An exclusive tour of the bus, a chance to meet the riders and a whirlwind carnival atmosphere were all part of a fantastic summer Sunday afternoon as Team Novo Nordisk flashed past the big finish in Copenhagen.

2) Tour de Hongrie, stage 5

The summer of 2018 will be remembered for its long and unusual heatwave. Team Novo Nordisk put its riders to the test in Hungary, and the riders came out on top, with a chance to defend the sprinter’s green jersey and fight for the podium. On the final day the race passed a circuit loop with thousands of fans and put on quite a show.

Intsinzi! (Victory in Kinyarwanda, the national language of Rwanda)

David Lozano won stage seven of the hilly Tour du Rwanda, crossing the line solo with his hands in the air, celebrating his intsinzi with an instantly recognizable smile of pride and triumph!
