Race: BC Superweek / Canada: Tour de Delta – MK Delta Criterium

Start/Finish: North Delta, BC, Canada

Distance: 48 kilometers

Overview: Team Novo Nordisk raced Friday’s 45-lap criterium course through the heart of North Delta. The rolling course was 1.2 km long. The Team Novo Nordisk riders remained safe in the peloton throughout the race. As the race increased its pace on the final two laps, Irishman Stephen Clancy and Kiwi Aaron Perry safely remained in the front group, with Clancy finishing as Team Novo Nordisk’s top rider in 26th place.

“Our goal was to ride conservatively and stay safe,” Team Novo Nordisk Sport Director Pavel Cherkasov said. “For this weekend, our focus is on the UCI road race on Sunday.”

Results: Ryan Roth (independent) took the win ahead of Shane Kline (Team SmartStop Pro Cycling) and Pierrick Naud (Garneau-Quebecor).

Team Novo Nordisk, the world’s first all-diabetes pro cycling squad, continues racing at BC Superweek on Saturday at the Brenco Criterium in Ladner, Canada. The men’s pro race is a 54-km battle around a technical 0.9-km course through the historic fishing village.
