Team Novo Nordisk had a memorable 2019 Spring, racing at the highest level in two key World Tour events: Milano San Remo and Tour of California. In both races the world’s first all-diabetes pro cycling team achieved unprecedented accomplishments, notably placing four riders in the breakaway at the Italian Monument and notching our first top 10 stage result in a World Tour race.

1) Milano-San Remo
In Milano–Sanremo, the longest professional road bike race in the world, Team Novo Nordisk made a bold statement by placing four riders in the day’s breakaway. A monumental achievement that received high praise in the cycling universe.
2) Brabantse Pijl
Team Novo Nordisk left its mark in Belgium, the epicenter of spring classics, showcasing the Changing Diabetes jersey proudly at Brabantse Pijl in the Flanders region. The team got to meet dozens of fans, including two special young boys who inspired our team to a solid performance.
3) Amgen Tour of California – Stage 1
Charles Planet kicked off our participation in the Amgen Tour of California in style, seizing the Most Courageous Jersey after a fighting performance in the breakaway.
4) Amgen Tour of California – Stage 7
Andrea Peron sprinted to 8th place on the final Stage of Amgen Tour of California and conquered Team Novo Nordisk’s first Top10 result in a World Tour race. An historic day for the world’s first all-diabetes pro cycling team and one we were privileged to celebrate with many fans.
5) Tour of Estonia – Stage 1
Sam Brand took the Mountains Jersey after a stoic breakaway effort on a rainy and cold stage 1 of Tour of Estonia and Andrea Peron sprinted to 3rd place on the day. Two podiums on the same day marked a new milestone for Team Novo Nordisk and a day we won’t soon forget.
