European racing wraps for TNN at Tour de Vendee

11 October 2025

Team Novo Nordisk closed out its European racing for 2025 at the Tour de Vendee in France today with young Italian Alessandro Perracchione the best placed for the world’s first and only all diabetes professional cycling team.

The race once again unfolded behind an early breakaway with five riders going clear in the first hour of racing with the last of them stubbornly holding on into the final ten kilometers before the catch was made by the marauding peloton in La Roche-sur-Yon.

Late attacks by the big guns split the front of the race in the final meters with 20-year-old Perracchione digging deep, but unable to go with them and finishing on the same time, but in 27th.

We raced well as a team throughout today,” said Perracchione. “Unified and staying together until it became more chaotic on the last lap as the bunch upped the pace with the chase to bring back the break.”

“I tried my best in the final, but I couldn’t go with the best as they kicked at the end. It’s been a long season and we’re all tired, but we gave a good account of ourselves in a hard race today and we can go into the off season and enjoy some time off now before picking back up with training in November.”
