Kamstra Sprints to Career Best at Jayco Herald Sun Tour

06 February 2016

Race: Jayco Herald Sun Tour, Stage 3

Start/Finish: Traralgon / Inverloch, Australia

Distance: 146.2 kilometers

Team Novo Nordisk’s neo-pro Brian Kamstra (NED) earned his best result to date when he sprinted to 15th place on Saturday’s Stage 3 of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour. The 146.2-kilometer stage saw a five-man break gain a maximum advantage of nearly four and a half minutes. They were caught inside the final 10 km, which set the stage for a bunch sprint in Inverloch. With a tricky corner only 500 meters from the finish, many teams were unable to set up their sprinters. John Murphy (United Healthcare) sprinted to the win in the technical finish with Kamstra finishing in the same time.
