Development Team General Manager Daniel Holt:
“Today’s circuit was not too hard. The course consisted of 6 laps of 22km, including a 3-5% 5km climb on each lap, and an 8km climb at the finish.
The strategy was to lead out Justin for the 2 Red Jersey sprints early in the race, and then go for the best possible result on the finish climb.
Nathan did a good job. The race suited him, with a slow pace leading up to the gradual climb.
Justin had some bad luck with a mechanical on the first lap. He struggled on the climb and despite riding alone for the remainder of the day, he came close to making the time cut.”
