Tour of Estonia

Team Novo Nordisk made a promising start to the Tour of Estonia as Donovan Mackie clocked 1:07.42 to finish 8th overall in the opening prologue, a 1km time trial held at the Pirita Velodrome in Tallinn. The young Australian also sits 5th in the white jersey classification for riders under 23. 

The result was all the more impressive given that Mackie dropped his chain early in his effort, a setback that could have derailed his ride entirely. He recovered swiftly and limited the damage, showing the composure and resilience that will serve the team well across the stages ahead. 

“Super happy with my first top 10 in a .1 race,” said Mackie. “Unfortunately I dropped my chain early into the prologue but recovered quickly and didn’t lose too much time. Having great sensations on the bike and looking forward to working for the boys the rest of the tour!” 

With the prologue done, attention now turns to the road stages, where Filippo Ridolfo will look to the team to set him up for a strong result in Tallinn and Tartu.
