Team Novo Nordisk Takes Momentum from Sanremo to La Roue Tourangelle

26 March 2026

Following a milestone performance at the first Monument of the season, Team Novo Nordisk is set to carry that energy into the French heartland for the 24th La Roue Tourangelle Centre Val de Loire – Groupama P.V.L. on Sunday, March 29.

The 201-kilometer race, a staple of the UCI Europe Tour, is known for its rolling terrain through the Indre-et-Loire department, often culminating in a high-speed, technical finish in the city of Tours. With a mix of punchy climbs and exposed roads, it provides the perfect stage for the world’s first all-diabetes professional cycling team to showcase their resilience.

“A lot of work went into achieving our goals at Milan-Sanremo,” began General Manager Vassilii Davidenko. “And for the team to have achieved our objectives in one of the biggest races in the world is fantastic. That momentum is what we need to carry forward now into our next races in France.”

“First of those is La Roue Tourangelle in Tours on Sunday and we have an exciting young team lining up. There’s a strong French flavor to the squad with Anton Muller, Celestin Wattelle and our neo-pro Lucas Terrier making his senior debut. Antonio Polga and Filippo Ridolfo come in from Sanremo and with Celestin’s two top-10 results in Taiwan last week, we have good form to carry into Sunday’s race.”

  • Declan Irvine (AUS, 27)
