Tough Racing on Final Stage of Tour of Hainan
19 April 2026
Last stage of the Tour of Hainan saw Team Novo Nordisk battle to get good positioning in the 154.6km long course. With a 12km climb at the start of the race, David Lozano managed to stay in the front: “Today was a nice stage, it took me a few stages but I felt like myself again and managed to stay in front quite comfortably”.
“It feels bittersweet to finally get good legs on the last stage, after battling with the heat and stomach problems I had in the first couple of days” added Lozano, “but overall I’m glad it ended positively.”
The team comes home with a positive experience from a balanced and rewarding Tour of Hainan, where teamwork was crucial and well executed. Lozano feels that he helped some of the youngsters get some racing experience.
“Overall it was a very positive tour, the team spirit was high and we worked well together. Even though we didn’t place as high as we wanted we go home having learnt something that we can hopefully put in practice in the next races to come.”
Team Novo Nordisk now looks at the races ahead with newfound confidence and fighting spirit after the Chinese tour.
