Team Novo Nordisk have all eyes on home race at Postnord Danmark Rundt

08 August 2025

It’s that special time of year again when schools out, the sun shines, and the race caravan of PostNord Danmark Rundt rolls around with Team Novo Nordisk heavily motivated to continue to plough the rich vein of form shown so far this season.

Experienced leaders Andrea Peron and David Lozano head up a strong trio alongside precocious Czech talent Matyas Kopecky fresh from another white jersey and third overall at the recent Kreiz Breizh Elites in France.

We are very excited to be returning once again to PostNord Danmark Rundt,” said General Manager Vassili Davidenko. “This is our ‘home race’ and the most significant event on our calendar being the home to our title sponsor Novo Nordisk and also our bike partner Argon 18. We line up with a predominantly young team bolstered by the experience of Andrea and David.”

Matyas has had another outstanding season to date and in the past two editions both he and Filippo have performed well. Spending time in the white young riders jersey and achieving top 10 finishes – this is what we will be aiming for once again whilst continuing to inspire, educate and empower everyone affected by diabetes around the world.

We can’t highlight enough how important our mission is to us and how privileged we are to be able to show what we can do on this stage.”

Italian rouleur Filippo Ridolfo leads the supporting cast alongside compatriot Antonio Polga and first year professionals Anton Muller and Bailey McDonald – both hungry for experience in their biggest race of the season.

We all know how important the Tour of Denmark is for Team Novo Nordisk,” began Kopecky. “It’s not only important for the team but also our sponsors and the worldwide diabetes community that we are all part of. This is our platform. Our biggest race of the season where we get the chance to shine in front of the people that matter to us. We’ve been working all season for this and we don’t want to waste the opportunity.”

Personally I feel good, after coming down from altitude we raced in France last weekend, winning the young riders jersey and third overall wasn’t bad at all, so we’re in a good place heading into stage one on Bornholm next week. The hard work has been done, now we need to get the results.”

The traditional five stage format of the race remains with the exciting addition of an opening stage on the ‘sunshine island’ of Bornholm followed by what is becoming a staple stage finish of the Tour of Denmark – the sprint into Gladsaxe on stage two, right by Novo Nordisk HQ.

Stage three is individual time trial day with 14km of pure racing against the clock in Kerteminde with the brutal Queen Stage in Vejle on day four and a northern finale in Jutland on stage five with the last day of racing concluding in Silkeborg.
