Wattelle Backs Up with Another Top-20 on Short, Nervy Stage 4 of Tour of Taihu Lake
15 September 2026
Team Novo Nordisk navigated a short but tense stage 4 of the Tour of Taihu Lake, with Célestin Wattelle once again in the mix in the bunch sprint to finish 16th.
Forecast winds had the peloton on alert from the start, though the stage ultimately played out calmer than expected.
“Today was a very short stage, but the most nervous because of the wind,” Wattelle said. “In the end the wind wasn’t as strong as planned, so nothing happened. We were riding in good position in the bunch, so not much stress.”
With the finish arriving quickly, Wattelle’s team kept him well placed heading into the closing kilometres.
“We arrived quickly in the final, and I could stay in good position,” he said. “I lost a bit in the last turns, but it was still good.”
The result continues a consistent run for Wattelle through the race, and he’s already looking ahead to the next chance.
“Happy with the stability of the results,” he said. “One more opportunity to get the best of what we can.”
