PROFILE
In his second season with the Team Novo Nordisk Development team, Estonian prospect Richard Rundva has been cycling since the age of eight and represented Estonia in the junior European Championships in 2024.
After feeling unwell during and after a training camp in 2022 with his then junior team, Rundva was taken for blood tests and then immediately diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
In complete shock Rundva thought that his dreams of becoming a professional athlete were over, yet through the support of his family and his coach he realized that this was not the case and that sport would help manage his diabetes.
Discovering Team Novo Nordisk after his father did some research, Rundva started to seriously believe and attended the team Talent ID camp in 2024 before joining the Devo team in 2025.
Outside of cycling Rundva is interested in engineering and enjoys playing discgolf.
