PROFILE
Another new addition to the Team Novo Nordisk Development team for 2026 is Swiss all rounder Luca Sacher.
The 19 year old comes from an active sporting family and was born and raised close to the picturesque Lake Constance, he was a keen biathlete and played various sports before dedicating more time to cycling.
Much like many of his new teammates Sacher started to experience the telltale signs of extreme thirst, sudden weight loss, and an overly frequent need to urinate. He was 16 years old and diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and was fortunate to have received excellent guidance and support at the hospital and from his doctor.
After learning about Team Novo Nordisk from friends in the biathlon world, Sacher applied to attend the team Talent ID camp and was accepted in 2025, impressing enough to be given a place on the devo team for 2026.
Away from the bike Sacher conpleted high school and is an apprentice IT specialist and retains a firm interest in Biathlon and also formula 1.
