Team Novo Nordisk Tackles a Long, Demanding Stage 3 at Tour of Hainan

17 April 2026

Stage 3 featured early climbs and a grueling 217km distance, challenging riders’ endurance and recovery after previous tough days.

David Lozano bounced back from a difficult Stage 2, steadily improving throughout the day despite stomach issues limiting his nutrition. He stayed near the front in a chaotic race full of attacks and finished with a solid performance in the first group.

“Today was better than yesterday. Even with a bad day yesterday and a stomach that didn’t feel right, I managed to stay up front through all the attacks. I’m happy with the performance and I’m hoping my body gets back to normal so I can enjoy the last two days.” – said Lozano.

Lucas Terrier, a first-year pro still gaining experience, gave a strong effort from the start. He worked hard to join the best group early on and was pleased with his ride, even though he missed the main group. His teammates later joined to form a large second peloton to the finish.

“The race was tough from the start with a climb after 5km. I pushed hard to get into the best group, and although I missed the main one, I was happy with my ride. Yesterday and today’s long distance make it a long week, but it’s great experience. Now it’s time to focus on recovery for the final days.” – reflected Terrier.

Team Novo Nordisk continues to show resilience and tactical awareness as the Tour of Hainan approaches its final two stages.
