PROFILE
Hamish Armitt returns for his second season with Team Novo Nordisk in 2026, looking to build on a solid debut year highlighted by standout performances at the Tour de Hongrie, Maryland Cycling Classic, and Giro della Toscana.
A raw and talented all-rounder, Armitt possesses strong climbing skills and a sharp eye for a sprint on punchier parcours.
Born and raised in Glasgow, Armitt was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 15. A former junior national British cross-country running champion, he represented Great Britain multiple times in track and field before returning to competitive cycling full-time after leaving school.
Armitt joined TNN after impressing at the team’s annual Talent ID camp in Tuscany in July 2024. A subsequent stagiaire role with the TNN Development team at the Tour of Bulgaria and the Tour of Istanbul further cemented his potential, as he showcased aggressive racing by securing a top-ten finish on the final stage in Bulgaria, along with 11th overall and fourth in the young rider classification.
Off the bike, Armitt balances his professional racing career with studies in Sports Business Marketing and remains an avid runner whenever the opportunity arises.
