Now into his second year with the Team Novo Nordisk Development team Belgian Jeffe Beets hopes to improve on his debut season that saw standout performances coming at Tour of Somerville, Plainfield State and the Tour of the Gila in the USA.
Born in the European cycling heartland of Leuven in Belgium, Beets was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of eight after experiencing tell tale symptoms of needing to urinate constantly and being unable to hydrate no matter how much he drank. Beets’ mother is a nurse and recognized the signs, taking him immediatltely to see a doctor.
Enjoying an active childhood Beets was more of a football player before he took up cycling, but once he started taking two wheels seriously he started to do well, scoring podiums in national level races in Belgium and after the TNN Talent ID camp, joined the devo team in 2025. Immediately improving his discipline both on the bike and with diabetes management.
Beets recently graduated from high school, enjoys spending time with his grilfriend and family and friends.
