PROFILE
Back for his second season with the Team Novo Nordisk Development team is Australian all rounder Olly Clements.
19 year old Clements hails from Melbourne and enjoyed an active childhood playing various sports including cricket, football and running. He comes from a sporting family and moved from Australia to the UK when he was four years old and back to Australia when he was 16.
Clements started to experience sudden weight loss, nausea and extreme thirst at the age 13 and was taken to the hospital and subsequently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
The family doctor told Clements that exercise could really help manage his daibetes and this is when he started to take sport more seriously. Switching from running to an exercise bike due to family concerns about him exercising alone, Clements got the cycling bug and joined a local club, immediately starting to compete on the junior circuit.
After discovering Team Novo Nordisk Clements attended Talent ID camp twice before being selected for the development team initially in 2025 and now again in 2026.
Off the bike Clements enjoys cooking and experimenting in the kitchen.
