Following this mornings difficult stage, the race continued in the afternoon with Stage 2, with a relatively flat profile and 85.5km to go.
Development Team Sport Director Sergey Lagutin:
“Today’s first stage was incredibly windy, with several open field areas. I advised the team to stay in the front, especially for the first 30km.
The second one was an easy stage, mostly flat, with no wind. The leader’s team took control of the race right from the start.
In general, the team performed well. However, the first stage was complicated by a big crash that affected the positions of some riders. Nonetheless, most of the guys did great in both stages.”
