Kusztor in the final sprint brings home the 23rd place

Race: Tour du Limousin-Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Stage 2

Start/Finish: Rouffiac – St. Estephe

Distance: 173.9 kilometers

Peter Kusztor (HUN)

The stage today was calmer than yesterday with good roads all the way. It was warmer though and staying hydrated was essential.

I felt very good since the beginning and stayed with the peloton to save energy. The final lap was a very hectic one, with small roads, many uphill. Perfect for me.

I managed to stay with the first group and made it to the final sprint which wasn’t easy considered the increased pace.

Overall, I am happy with the result and how the stage went. The legs feel good and I am optimistic about the next two stages.

Hot and hard day in the saddle on stage three at Tour du Limousin

Race: Tour du Limousin-Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Stage 3

Start/Finish: Usaac – Chamberet

Distance: 177.9 kilometers

Peter Kusztor (HUN)

Today it was another tough day with really hot weather.  It was a tactic race and was very important to stay in the front and save energy.

I felt good but I did have hard moments. The final lap of 50 km particularly was very challenging.

I didn’t make the top 20 but I am happy with the 21st place and my position in GC.

Charles Planet (FRA)

Stage 3 was another tough stage but it was a good day for the team with Peter in the front group.

Personally it was quite a hard day. I didn’t felt at my best and couldn’t reach the result I hoped for. I want to stay positive, I can feel my legs are better day after day. We still have tomorrow and we’ll give it all.

Kusztor secures 19th on GC at Tour du Limousin

Race: Tour du Limousin-Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Stage 4

Start/Finish: Lac de Saint-Pardoux – Limoges

Distance: 167 kilometers

Peter Kusztor (HUN)

I had a very good feeling almost all day today.

We had three laps in the end and with two uphills. I felt strong and made sure to be front at the last kilometers. I kept my tempo and arrived 19th. My goal was to be in the top 20 in the GC and I did 19th. I am happy with the result and my performance. The team did a great job: I had Andrea and Charles trying to bring me in a good position and they all supported me.

I have the national championship on Sunday and then we’ll head to Tour of Hungary with the team.

Pavel Cherkasov, DS

Today’s stage was very fast. Rain and windy roads added an extra challenge. All our guys stayed with the main group all the way to the final circuits.

There was a good team effort and support for Peter. The main group started splitting with last three finishing laps and Peter was able to stay with the first riders.

We are very happy with his 19th place in GC.
