Team Novo Nordisk back In Taiwan for five days of action

The Tour de Taiwan has been a successful race for Team Novo Nordisk over
the years and the world’s first all diabetes professional cycling team head into
the 22nd edition with lofty goals.

Experienced kiwi sprinter Hamish Beadle leads the young team with
Australian neo pro Donovan Mackie making his pro debut alongside fellow
first year professional Juan Jose Lopez.

“We have a young and exciting team for the Tour de Taiwan,” said General
Manager Vassilii Davidenko. “It’s a perfect race to give these guys an
opportunity to show what they can do and gain some real racing experience.”

“There’s always a fantastic reception from the crowd in Taiwan and we’re
fortunate to have raced well and achieved good results there in the past.
Hamish made the top ten back in 2024, he has a leadership role for this year’s
race and we’re looking for that kind of performance again.”

French opportunist Anton Muller and fast finisher Celestin Wattelle
compete the five rider line up for the American team and both will look to
support Beadle in the finals.

“The Tour de Taiwan is one of my favorite races of the year,” said Beadle. “The
stage profiles and style of racing usually suits me well and we’ve had good
results here in the past. Knowing that always gives you a positive feeling when
going into a race and we’re definitely looking forwad to it.”

Five days of racing around the Island starts with the classic short stage for the
sprinters in Taipei City before staedily moving into more hilly terrain and
heads south to Kaohsiung before a picturesque finale by Liyu Lake.
